The Governor General’s Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarship Awards 2010

Mathew Lillyst was one of twelve Indigenous university students (from each state and territory in Australia) who were presented with scholarship awards by the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, at Government House on Monday, August 9. It is the first year that the Governor-General’s Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarships have been awarded.

The successful students aim to become high-quality teachers and role models for other Indigenous students across the nation, including in remote and rural communities. Mathew is currently completing his studies at St Patrick’s Campus, Australian Catholic University Fitzroy after spending three semesters at the Institute of Koorie Education, Deakin University, Geelong.
